Careertech Training That Has Combined Two Worlds Together
Silvia Pinedo grew up around people who work on vehicles. Silvia also loves painting. When learning about the Auto Collision Repair program at Western Technology Center it seemed a natural fit of combining her two worlds together.
Silvia has excelled in class and represented WTC at the Regional SkillsUSA Automotive Refinishing Contest and in a T-Shirt Design contest. Silvia placed 3rd in Automotive Refinishing and 5th in the T-Shirt Design.
Prior to finishing her training at WTC, Silvia received additional work-based learning experiences through an on-the-job training assignment at SportsChassis in Clinton as a Paint and Body Intern. Silvia is now working full-time for SportsChassis.
Thinking about the future, Silvia says she wants to keep “an open mind to possibly design my own car someday”. Western Technology Center is committed to “educating people for success”!

Careertech Helped Newspaper City Editor Outline His Career Plans
After high school, Montgomery Malone had no interest in college and no specific plans for a career. He decided to enroll at Western Technology Center for additional training and took an interest inventory to help him choose a program. The results suggested he might be good at photo editing and media development.
Malone enrolled in WTC’s Multimedia program where he earned certifications as a digital video technician and multimedia specialist. He took his new career skills to the Weatherford Daily News where he uses his multimedia and communication skills daily as the city editor for the newspaper.
Malone was recently awarded first place for an in-depth enterprise story by the Oklahoma Press Association..
