First National Qualification In 23 Years
In early February, our “We The People” team competed in the Nevada State We The People competition. We placed second overall, and became the first southern Nevada WTP team to qualify for national competition since 1999!
This accomplishment followed months of rigorous preparation. While our team was writing speeches and researching elements government, our coach organized mock competitions, found volunteer coaches, and invited guest visitors.

| NWCTA Families: The ASVAB assessment deadline has been extended for College and Career Ready Diploma Designation ! On Tuesday, January 24 at 7:00 a.m. in the Banquet Hall, Seniors and Juniors will have the opportunity to take the ASVAB assessment. An Extended deadline for Seniors and Juniors to register is Tuesday, January 10th by 2 p.m. If you score a 50 or better on this assessment, you will have met the Career Endorsement requirements of the College and Career Ready Diploma. West Career and Technical Academy is a magnethigh school located in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. The school opened in August 2010 as the first magnet school in Summerlin, a community in the western Las Vegas Valley. It is administered by the Clark County School District. As of 2019, the school had an enrollment of 1,397 students and 61 classroom teachers on a FTE basis, for a student-teacher ratio of 23:1. West Tech offers nine programs to prepare students for a career in the field selected.
