Smart Horizons Career Online Education Encourages California Adults To Finish High School In 2022
Smart Horizons Career Online Education encourages Californians who havent completed high school to make earning their high school diplomas a 2022 New Years resolution.
Thanks to support from the California State Library, adults can earn an accredited high school diploma with Career Online High School through their public library.
As everyones considering New Years resolutions, we encourage them to earn a high school diploma and career certificate for free through their public library, said Dr. Howard Liebman, Superintendent of Schools, Smart Horizons Career Online Education.

Participating libraries offer the nationally accredited high school program, which includes a 24/7 online classroom, personal academic coaches, and real-world career training.

Are Cohs Staffs Credentialed When Are They Available To Assist Students
Yes, all COHS instructors are state-certified. Most of the academic coaches and academic support instructors are located in Florida. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Central Time. However, coaches have evening hours twice a week and the hours likely will be expanded. Library staff is not exclusively assigned to students enrolled through Colusa County Free Library at this time, but we are happy to assist when possible. The COHS will reach out to all students at least once every two weeks â and more often for students in need.
Smart Horizons Career Online Education Earns Reaccreditation By Cognia System
District receives high marks on Index of Education Quality score.
Smart Horizons Career Online Education , the worlds first private online school district, announced today that it has earned system reaccreditation by Cognia Accreditation Commission, a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers. Originally accredited in 2011, SHCOEs 2021 reaccreditation is for a five-year term.
Cognia, formerly AdvancED, recognizes school districts that demonstrate the following: rigorous standards that focus on productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation that meets the needs of learners, and effective leadership. Earning accreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission means that the SHCOE school district and all its schools are accredited, and that SHCOE is recognized nationally as a school system that meets Cognia Standards of Quality and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement.

How Long Will It Take For Students To Complete The Program
Students will be given up to 18 months to complete the program, which will consist of 18 credits. Students accepted into the program may transfer up to 14 credits from their former high school. Depending on how many credits the student is able to transfer, the program can be completed in as few as five months.
English 2 Introduction To Literature
DESCRIPTION:This course provides an introduction to literature. The course is presented in two semesters.
Semester 1 introduces students to different types of figurative language encountered when reading literature.
Semester 2 discusses and explains elements of various types of literature, information and media literacy, and desktop publishing, as it applies to creating and producing brochures. This course explores a variety of career writing applications, such as print and nonprint media, mass and social media, technical writing, and journalism.

Founded in 2010 and located in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, Smart Horizons Career Online Education develops career-based high school diploma programs. DESCRIPTION:This course emphasizes the study of world history. The course is presented in two semesters.
Semester 1 describes world conditions beginning 5000 BCE and ending in 1630 CE. Specific topics included are ancient, Greek, and Roman civilizations, the Byzantine Empire, the rise of Islamic civilizations, the middle ages, Chinese and Japanese empires, as well as African and American civilizations. Also included are the Renaissance, the Reformation, scientific revolution and enlightenment, European expansion and exploration, and European monarchies.

Career Online High School
Colusa County Free Library’s Career Online High School offers adults the opportunity to earn an accredited high school diploma and career certificate online.
The Library’s pilot program provides a limited number of free enrollments to qualified adult learners who are looking to advance their careers, prepare for workforce entry or continue their education. Career Online High School through the Colusa County Free Library is open to all eligible County residents.
Applicants who successfully complete an online self-assessment and prerequisite course, followed by an in-person interview, will be considered for enrollment.
Once enrolled, COHS pairs each student with an online academic coach, who provides the student with an individual career path, offers ongoing guidance, evaluates performance and connects the student with the resources needed to master the courses. Students will be given up to 18 months to complete the program.

Through Career Online High School, employees can now earn an accredited high school diploma 100% online, on their schedule. Science 1 Earth And Space Science
DESCRIPTION:This course examines the processes of science and body of knowledge about Earth and its place in the universe. The course is presented in two semesters.
Semester 1 outlines criteria necessary for data to become scientific knowledge and details the process of scientific inquiry focusing on scientific inferences and creativity, scientific argumentation, sources of information, theories, laws, models, and the relationship between science and technology. The origin and evolution of the universe is discussed through exploration of the Big Bang Theory, astronomical objects, formation of planetary systems, properties of stars, coordinate system, astronomical distances, electromagnetic spectrum, and the effects of earth, moon, and stars.
Semester 2 discusses the earthââ¬â¢s layers and atmosphere, plate tectonics, surfaces features and processes, oceans, geologic time, and natural and human-induced hazards. This course also describes the earthââ¬â¢s energy systems, geochemical cycles, deep water motion, system interactions, climate, weather prediction, severe weather, and global climate change.

In response to the Oct. 8 story Online high school diploma: useless?, The Career Online High School is a fully accredited school division within Smart Horizons Career Online Education. Smart Horizons has full academic accreditation through the Advanced Accreditation Commission, the same commission that represents 27,000 public and private schools and districts across the U.S. and in 65 countries worldwide.
More than 40 million Americans lack a high school diploma, 1 million of them in New Jersey alone. Many of these students are working adults and out-of-school youth. Career Online High School provides intensive support to help students earn a career credential and diploma. The program surrounds students with online support and certified academic coaches and instructors. DESCRIPTION:This course emphasizes the study of the properties and nature of matter and energy. The course is presented in two semesters.
Semester 1 explores atomic theory, phases of matter, the periodic table, chemical bonding and formula representations, carbon interactions, and matter and energy in living systems. It examines chemical reactions including chemical equations, reaction kinetics, and the processes of reactions including oxidation-reduction, acid-base, direct combinations, decomposition, and displacement.
Semester 2 describes Newtonââ¬â¢s laws of motion, and the fundamental forces of matter including electromagnetism, strong and weak interactions, and gravitation. This course also details different types of energy including thermal, chemical, electrical, radiant, nuclear, magnetic, elastic, sound, and gravitational energies as well as thermodynamics and waves.

Semester 1 identifies the origins and purposes of government, law, and politics in the United States. It discusses the purposes and provisions of the Constitution and its amendments.
