What You Need For Register For A Career Center Seminar
You can attend a Career Center Seminar at any of the MassHire Career Centers across the state. You do not have to be unemployed to use MassHire Career Center services.
Schedule your Career Center Seminar at the Masshire Career Center of your choice.Plan up to 3 hours for the seminar, and it is recommended to arrive 15 minutes early. A Career Center Seminar is free to attend.

Masshire Central Career Center
The MassHire Central Career Center brings you the best of our community’s employment and training resources in two central locations: Worcester and Southbridge. As a federally and state-funded Massachusetts One-Stop Career Center, they provide employment services for both job seekers and employers. The City of Worcester Division of Workforce Development operates the Career Center in partnership with the Massachusetts Department of Career Services.
MassHire Central Career Center is a part of the Massachusetts One-Stop Career Centers network, comprised of more than 30 Centers statewide. The One-Stop Career Centers are a nationwide workforce development program funded by the United States Department of Labor.

Section : Department Of Career Services
Section 1. Within the executive office of labor and workforce development, there shall be a department of career services, in this chapter called the department.
The mission of the department shall be to develop, coordinate, and maintain a coherent workforce development system that fills the needs of employers for a skilled workforce and promotes lifelong learning among employees. The department shall cooperate with all federal, state, and local agencies active in the field of workforce development to achieve this goal.
The following state agencies and funds shall be in the department of career services: the one stop career centers, the state workforce development board, the commonwealth corporation, and the workforce training fund. The division of unemployment assistance shall include the medical security trust fund and the unemployment insurance trust fund.

The Masshire Greater Lowell Workforce Board
The MassHire Greater Lowell Workforce Board oversees a wide range of workforce development activities, representing a multitude of federal and state funding streams. These include Youth, Adult and Dislocated Worker programs funded by the Workforce Investment Act, The MassHire Lowell Career Center, School to Career Initiatives, DOE Adult Basic Education Activities, The Workforce Training Fund, and other specially funded workforce development activities.
The MassHire Greater Lowell Workforce Board is one of 16 Workforce Boards throughout Massachusetts, servicing the communities of Billerica, Chelmsford, Dracut, Lowell, Tewksbury, Tyngsboro, Dunstable and Westford. We are charged with overseeing and implementing workforce development initiatives throughout the Workforce Investment Area. Board members offer a wide range of skills and experience and include representatives from local businesses, educational Institutions, Community Based Organizations, labor unions, governmental agencies, economic development bodies, and Chambers of Commerce.

What Will I Learn In A Career Center Seminar
The Massachusetts One Stop Career Center provide a wide array of services to assist job seekers return to work.
Once you have received your first unemployment check, you will receive notification to participate in the RESEA program. You will be required to attend a Career Center Seminar
The first step to accessing career center services is to attend a Career Center Seminar . At the CCS you will learn about the wide variety of career center services to help you with your job search. You will complete an Individual Needs Assessment and with the help of career center staff, you will begin to develop a Career Action Plan which will connect you to career center services such as:
- Workshops on job search techniques including interviewing, networking, and resume writing
- Learn the importance of tracking your job search
- Conduct Labor Market Information research
- Access to up-to-date local, statewide and national job listings
- Resources to help you find the right training opportunities
- Tools to help you conduct an effective job search
- Career planning assistance and information on demand-driven jobs, fastest growing occupations and skill requirements
- Access to resource room services including computers, newspapers, professional journals, business directories, fax machines and copiers, publications on job search activities and careers

Masshire Central Region Workforce Board

The MassHire Central Region Workforce Board is a public/private partnership, serving needs of both employers and job seekers of all types. The board collaboratively develops and implements strategies for job readiness and skills advancement, leveraging community resources that promote economic wellness within the region’s 38 cities and towns.
Our primary role is to convene civic and business leadership and utilize their insights to direct public funds aimed at building the skills of the workforce in our area. We also oversee the region’s two Career Centers located in Worcester and Southbridge.
