The Parks Department is hiring now for outdoors maintenance positions! The jobs are 40 hours per week and pay $15.45 per hour. The job duties include: sweeping, raking, picking up litter, and emptying trash receptacles.

The job is five days a week, from 7 AM to 3:30 PM. Four of those days are during the week and one day a week is on the weekend. One of those days will be a paid day to look for a permanent job by the time your Parks job ends.

    Crisis Drill Gives Cte Students A Different View Of Emergency Response

    Students in Robert Del Grecos Emergency Medical Services classes recently participated in a Community Emergency Response Team drillas victim actors, giving emergency responders a chance to hone their skills helping people like those they might encounter in a real crisis.

    Drills like these are great opportunities for our students to work with real world professionals and gain valuable experience, Mr. Del Greco said.

    Alyssa Carasquillo, a senior from Harrison High School, portrayed a person with a cognitive disability who was disoriented following the hypothetical incident. The exercise gave her confidence that she could manage well in a crisis. “Attending to all those people looked really hard, she said, but I thought, I can do that.”

    Spring 2023 Career Training And Professional Growth Workshop Schedule Released

    Career Center Virtual Orientation

    Jefferson Community College career training and professional growth workshops will positively impact ones career growth and add value to a resume. The Colleges hands-on allied health training prepares individuals to meet qualifications and sit for nationally recognized certification exams. Individuals with an interest in getting certified in human resources, computer information technology, cybersecurity, and web development will also find JCCs career preparation programs beneficial. Workshops are held in-person on JCCs campus, at the Lewis County JCC Education Center, and at Fort Drum. Additionally, JCC offers a wide variety of career preparation workshops online.

    MyCAA, a Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts Program offered by the Department of Defense, is accepted. Eligibility for MyCAA includes spouses of active duty Army, Navy, Air Force and Marine service members on Title 10 orders within paygrades E1-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O2. If your spouse is in the National Guard or is an AGR Member, they must be on federal Title 10 active duty orders.

    OITE Career Services is housed on the second floor of Building 2 on the Bethesda campus. Most career counselors and advisors are available between the core hours of 9:00 am and 4:00 pm. However, some may begin work earlier or remain at work later, so appointments may be available outside these times.     Incumbent Worker Training Program

    Funded by the U.S. Department of Labor and administered by the Workforce Development Division of the Alabama Department of Commerce, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Incumbent Worker Training Program is designed to provide funding assistance to qualifying Alabama for-profit businesses to provide skills training to full- time, permanent company workers. The training must be a business necessity that will enhance companies abilities to compete in global economies, expand present markets, and help ensure the permanency of businesses in Alabama. For the workers, the training will upgrade present work skills, heighten job security, provide marketable skills, and increase the possibilities for higher wages and promotional opportunities. The Workforce Development Division staff members administer, monitor, and evaluate the training program. They also provide fiscal and subrecipient agreement compliance assistance during the training process.

    The Eligible Training Provider List is an online guide to Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act training programs approved by the State. Training and education providers maintain their program information online through this portal. Alabama ETPL

    Eligible Training Providers are required to:

    • Apply to become an Eligible Provider
    • Submit Program Services for approval
    • Submit Annual Program Performance

    Consumers may search the ETPL on the AlabamaWorks! site by geographic area, by field of study, or by specific training institution to find the program that is right for them. Consumers may also compare different programs and institutions on the site as well.

    Goodwill Career Center offers tips, training to get a job

    Registration has opened for the Chevron Regional Occupational Program , a free job training program that prepares local residents for high-paying careers in industrial facilities.

    . Day and night classes start on Jan. 23. Registration closes Dec. 23.

    For more than 40 years, the ROP, which is funded by the Chevron Richmond Refinery and implemented by the Contra Costa County Office of Education, has launched hundreds of successful careers in the fuels and petrochemicals industries, including for many Chevron employees.

    Since 2015, the Chevron Richmond Refinery has directly hired more than 115 ROP graduates as either maintenance mechanics or process plant operators, while additional program graduates have gone on to work for other facilities or companies across the energy industry.

    Students in the ROP program learn technical skills such as mechanics, mathematics and chemistry, along with communication and analytical skills, safety practices and how to work independently and as part of a team. They are also provided job interview training.

    The Process Plant Operator course prepares students for entry level jobs operating refinery equipment, such as heating, lubrication and refining systems.

    To be eligible, students must be at least age 18, possess a high school diploma or GED, pass a basic math and reading comprehension assessment, and have a valid California drivers license.

    The Alabama Community College System provides a wide range of services to help both job seekers and employers reach their potential. ACCS is the primary deliverer of training services and the supervisory unit for WIOA services in one-stop career centers.

    Upmc Partnership On Workforce Readiness And Retention

    Career Center

    Bidwell Training Center students enrolled in any of the medical training programs will participate in a one-week, intense professional development training that focuses solely on developing skills to obtain and retain employment with UPMC.

    Participants focus on barriers to employment, interview techniques/mock interviews, soft skills, communications, responsibility & commitment, conflict management, stress, and learning how to apply for positions at UPMC and completion of the UPMC Online Assessment.

    A UPMC Career Event is held on the final day of training in which Bidwell Training Center students have the opportunity to meet with UPMC recruiters and managers that hire for Administrative, Medical Assistant, Medical Coder/Biller, and Pharmacy Technician positions.

    Upon successful completion of the UPMC POWRR professional development training participants receive a certificate of completion for all their hard work and professionalism.
