The Career Care Institute in Lancaster held a ribbon cutting ceremony and an open house on Tuesday to inaugurate a new two year Associate Degree in Nursing.
The program will begin in October. CCI will be the first private healthcare education college to offer the R.N. Program in the Antelope and Santa Clarita Valleys.
“In the community colleges, it’s all core classes for the first two years, but with us, it’s like a hybrid. We offer all the general education classes. We offer all the pre-requisites, and then we also offer the nursing core classes in only two years. So it’s a very fast-paced, accelerated program. So we’re very excited, because this is what’s needed here now. Community colleges are impacted. Students can’t even get the gen ed and pre-requisites. But we offer everything here, so it’s like one-stop shopping. It’s all in-house,” said Marissa Latuno, Director of the Associate Degree Nursing Program.
The program currently has 32 students.
