Faq: Your Free Career Test
Question: Is this resource test useful for students as well as adults?
Answer: The free career tests in this resource are useful for students and adults for career exploration. School districts, colleges, and workforce centers use this with their students and clients for career research. The content is written at an 8th-grade level when possible and is most easily understood by students that are at least 13 years of age and older. Some schools do use this as a resource with students that are younger than 13 to get them interested in STEM careers. However, younger students that are not in high school yet should be supervised when taking any of the tests so any questions can be explained if necessary. Also, some careers are more technical than others and younger students may find the terminology a bit more difficult to understand, especially in the job description.
Question: How much time does it take to complete the free career tests?
Answer: They are designed to take no more than five minutes to eliminate test fatigue. Some free career tests can be completed in as little as two or three minutes. Our flagship free career test is our most popular and may take the full 5 minutes for an adult or student to complete. All career tests can be taken on a desktop computer, laptop, tablet, or smartphone. However, it may take users on a smartphone or small tablet a minute longer to complete.
Question: Can you share more about the results page?
Is It Possible To Cheat On An Aptitude Test
Aptitude tests are normally conducted online. As such, they could be open to cheating, as the assessor cant be certain who actually took the test. Because of this, some employers may have candidates take another form of aptitude test when they come in for an interview, just to validate their performance on the initial screening.

What Is A Career Test

A career test or career aptitude test is a test designed to help you find careers that suit your skill set and personality.
They are based on scientific and psychological research making them reliable sources of information.

Some tests, such as the Myers-Briggs 16 personalities, delve into detail about your strengths, weaknesses, character and learning styles.

The free tests offer less analysis but still provide viable career options.
You can access these tests in several ways.
Career departments and counselors will have a selection available for you to take on campus. Those that are certified may also offer you the full or paid versions.
However, the best source is the internet.
Any Google search will yield many results. Some will be imitations of bigger tests, others may be accredited.
Before starting a test, check:
- The creators, providers, or publishers for their legitimacy
- The validity of the test and the types of results it yields
- Any hidden costs You do not want to take the test only to have to pay for the results

Best Career Aptitude Test: Top 10 List
Choosing the appropriate career aptitude test can be tough. However, if you consider these factors, your job will be easier. These factors will be discussed:
- Product Quality: One of the most important factors to consider when purchasing a product is its quality. Nobody would want a low-quality or easily worn-out object. They are even willing to spend a somewhat greater price for a good product.
- Sturdiness: Reliability and durability are inextricably linked. Because it is tough and resilient, your career aptitude test will last you for many months.
- Product availability: New items are frequently introduced to replace outdated products. This new product has most likely been updated in some way and may thus have new features.
- Sellers Rank: Dont you find it fascinating? You must have an excellent product, be known, and grow. These are both significant objectives. The product is successful based on its growing user base. Because more people are purchasing things, producers must provide better after-sales service and quality.
- Customer Feedback: You will not be held liable for things that went wrong with previous clients, will you? If you see higher ratings, you can rely on these.

Advice From An Expert
Dana Marvin, College Counselor,
1. What advice would you give a student who is unsure of their career path?
While it may seem like everyone else your age knows exactly what they want to do with the rest of their lives, chances are theyre still questioning it too. You probably have a few ideas that are already interesting, and you should start there.
Also, know that it is equally as useful to know what you dont want to do as a career. Sometimes the easiest place to start is by crossing off the things you dont like before narrowing down something you might enjoy doing. Not a fan of blood? Maybe medical careers arent the best fit for you. Is your parent an accountant, and the explanation of the job sounds boring to you? Again, maybe not a good fit. Eventually, you start narrowing down your options.
Lastly, dont stress too much about it. Most students feel like they need to have their entire lives planned by 18, but the reality is many students change their mind throughout their college careers and beyond. Not having it all figured out is not only ok, but its completely normal. Spend time exploring different majors and classes, attending events, and asking questions about things that spark your interest.
2. What career aptitude test do you recommend?
3. Any other advice to students?
