Program: Advanced Professional Truck Driver
Length: 6 weeks
- Must be at least 18 years old for intrastate driving
- Must be at least 21 years old for interstate driving
- Must have a high school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Must provide a current driving record free of serious violations
- Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam
- Must be able to pass a drug screening when administered
- Must not have any felony convictions within the past 5 years

Miguel is a very helpful instructor and taught us things any other instructors didnât, he helped me become better with up shifting and down shift by telling me too to look at the Rpm but at the same time look at the speed and calculate when to shift and that helped me a lot, and within 5 minutes I was shifting like Iâve been driving

Advanced Career Institute Bridging The Job Skills Training Gap
Class A CDL Training
Advanced Career Institutes Class A CDL training program consists of two different paths: Truck Driving and Ag Transportation. Students can enroll in these programs at the Visalia, Fresno, Merced, Bakersfield, and Las Vegas campuses. These courses teach students how to operate a truck safely, maintain the vehicle, and perform non-vehicle activities. The Ag Transportation course goes beyond just learning the procedures and skills found in the truck driving industry. In addition, Ag Transport students gain the necessary experience to land high-demand jobs in agriculture commodities. Individuals in both Class A CDL training programs receive in-depth instruction that goes beyond simply learning the basics to get your license.
Both truck driver training and Ag Transportation students leave prepared to obtain a Commercial Drivers License with any of the following endorsements: Air-Brakes, Combinations, Doubles-Triples, Tankers. Students who meet additional criteria can also be approved for the Hazardous Materials endorsement. Job opportunities include work in entry-level truck driver positions with common carriers, private truck fleets, local, short, and long-haul companies.
